I have a strange request for you all. I'm writing a book for The History Press called "Halloween: Folklore and Legends" The book only covers the UK and Ireland, and they want 60,000 words, but so far I'm only at the 30,000 mark. If you know of any Legends folktales, superstitions or Hauntings that revolve around Halloween, I'd love to hear them. I already have the history of Halloween/Samhain documented - and the history and traditions of the Jack-o-lantern, trick-or-treat, bobbin for apples (infact I have over 6 pages on apples alone!) and all the obvious things associated with Halloween, but what I really need are local legends or traditions, which may not be that well known. I'm especially short of hauntings and ghost sightings be them historical or modern. My email address is: matt.hutton@live.co.uk
